Speakers Bureau Guidelines

Participation in the Speakers Bureau is one of the many benefits available you, as a Member of the Senior Connection.

The Speakers Bureau was created to allow local Gurus (like You!) to address Seniors and Family Caregivers in the community on topics of interest and concern to them, on which you are an expert.

You have the opportunity to educate potential clients about your industry and the role your company plays; impress potential clients of your breadth of knowledge of your industry; and help your attendees become better, more knowledgeable consumers of your goods or services (and to let people see that you are a nice person!). You will be imparting your insight related to issues Seniors and Family Caregivers face that would necessitate the need for your services.

The Senior Connection schedules, organizes, advertises, and implements these Speakers Bureau presentations, as a free service to our Members. Presenters are selected from our Team Member Companies who show an interest in addressing small groups of qualified attendees - a GREAT way for you to connect with qualified purchasers of your goods or services in a comfortable, non-threatening environment for them.

The presentations are Not to be “Sales Pitches” for goods or services, but, instead, an opportunity for you to Educate the community to make them better, more knowledgeable consumers, and to get to know you better.

You will gain exposure to a group of qualified Seniors and/or Caregivers who are interested in what you have to say about Senior products and services. These brownbag presentations occur weekly from noon-1 p.m., to accommodate those who work. We arrange the meeting location and attendees, you supply the 45-minute (including Q&A) presentation. It's that simple.

If you’d like to be considered for presenting (assuming you adhere to the Guidelines outlined here), there are a few things you need to prepare and send to us. We want to help you maximize the value to the attendees, thus increasing the likelihood they will contact you in the future. Presentations are selected based on the interest that it generates in the community and by our partnering venues; how closely the presentation adheres to the subject, time and handout rules; and the presentation skills of the Presenter.


I - TITLE OF YOUR TALK

  • A catchy or snappy 4-7 word title for us to use in our Press Releases (we may want to negotiate a little with you on this).

  • The title should be functional (accurately reflect what will be addressed), yet enticing (make people want to attend).

  • This will be used in our publicity, including Press Releases

  • You need to let people know what they will learn, i.e. what are the “take-aways”

  • Your bio will be used to introduce you
